About Me

Are you feeling anxious, depressed, stressed, lonely or unhappy?

Life is not always easy for us. At times, we do experience difficulties and distressing feelings which prevent us from moving on.

From my own experience, talking to a counsellor helped to make sense of it all. If you are looking for a change, a more fulfilling life, counselling can help. I am here to listen, to journey with you through your difficulties.

I offer counselling in English & Mandarin.

I have been practicing since 2012. As an experienced and registered counsellor, I am committed to offer a safe, trusting, non-judgmental and confidential space for you to express your thoughts and feelings; to work cooperatively through your difficulties, and to facilitate rediscovering of life’s possibilities and potential.

I am committed to working within British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and Association of Christian Counsellors (ACC) ethical framework, including on-going supervision and continuing professional development. I am fully insured, registered for Data Protection and hold an Enhanced DBS.

How I work

My counselling approach is Integrative. I incorporate different counselling theories to work with my clients. For example, I use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to help you identify and change unhealthy thoughts and beliefs; or a Psychodynamic approach to enhance your self-awareness of behaviours, thoughts and feelings—which are unknown to you and are preventing moving on, or affecting your relationship with others. The integrative approach allows me to work flexibly with any client.

I also incorporate the use of creative interventions where and when appropriate, such as timelines, mind mapping, stone work, inner child, drawing, dreams, soft toys and imagery. These interventions aim to help you to gain a better understanding of who you are, and to give you a different perspective to your difficulties.

When working with children & young people, I offer a safe space for them ‘to chat’ or through creative interventions such as board games, drawing, craft or sand tray, to help them gain a better understanding of themselves and their issues; to enhance their resilience by facilitating the building of new skills for managing difficult emotions and behaviours.

I have lived, been educated and worked in South-East Asia, Central Asia, Fiji, Australia and the UK. My cross-cultural experience has given me the advantage of working with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds. I take into consideration differences in worldviews when I listen to a person’s story, such as, family structure, customs, values and spiritual faiths; in order to work alongside, and to facilitate culturally sensitive and appropriate solutions to problems.
